Karen Lis and Julie Skimmings are passionate about looking great and feeling fabulous. In 2009 they joined forces to create the makeup retail business, ICON Makeup Emporium.

Both Karen & Julie have worked as consultants for internationally known brands such as Dior and Chanel. They also share a love of helping women of all ages how to look their best for work or play!

  

ICON founder Karen Lis, brings knowledge from a career that has included over 20 years as a makeup artist in film, TV, magazines and theatre, with over 10 years experience as an educator to the beauty industry, working both locally and internationally. In 2007 Karen came back to her hometown and has set up ICON School of Makeup, with campuses now in Newcastle.

Julie Skimmings is also a working makeup artist and consultant with over fifteen years experience in the beauty industry. Julie is ICON’s sales rep on the road and in your salon or studio. Julie heads up the Wedding Services department of ICON keeping ICON in the forefront of creating beautiful makeup and giving great service to this busy and growing industry.
